Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot Program
AeroGuard is proud to partner with Cathay Pacific for their Cadet Pilot Programme.
AeroGuard is proud to be a flight training provider to Cathay Pacific for their Cadet Pilot Program. Within this program, Cathay Pacific select suitable cadets pilot, with or without prior flight experience, to join their cadet programme and become future pilots for the airline.
Once selected, cadets complete a thorough ground school experience in Hong Kong, before joining AeroGuard at the Phoenix, Arizona campus to complete their flight training. While at AeroGuard, cadets will complete an accelerated program resulting in them obtaining their Hong Kong Commercial Pilot’s License with Instrument Rating.
Following the flight training program at AeroGuard, cadets will return to Hong Kong to complete their training at Cathay Pacific, and start working for the airline as a pilot!

Requirements to Become a Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot
- A Hong Kong Permanent resident
- Graduated from secondary school with good passes in English language and Mathematics or Science. An aviation degree will be an advantage.
- Physically fit and qualified for a Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Able to meet Cathay flight deck reach requirements. Candidates may be asked to complete a static reach test and flight simulator reach assessment
- Achieve ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) English Language Proficiency level 4 or above
- Aged 18 years or above
