Aircraft & Resources On Campus
AeroGuard’s Georgetown campus offers a standardized fleet for students, providing a consistent learning experience. Students at Georgetown will fly Piper Archers for their single engine training before transitioning to their multi engine training in Piper Seminoles.
For additional practice and learning, students will also have missions in our on-site simulators so they can fully understand procedures and maneuvers before demonstrating their knowledge in the aircraft.
Approaches & Procedures
The Georgetown area surrounding AeroGuard’s Austin campus offers 100+ instrument approaches to practice and many airports that allow students to gain valuable experience. This real-world experience gives AeroGuard student pilots the skills they need and sets them on a path for success.
Varying Airspace Complexity
Students training at AeroGuard’s Austin flight school location will also benefit from diverse airspace complexity for a well-rounded training experience. The Georgetown Airport class D airspace (controlled) gives students an opportunity to interact with Air Traffic Control early on in their training, developing valuable communication skills for their future careers.
The airport is surrounded by diverse airspace that facilitates pilots practicing and mastering flight maneuvers without distractions and to operate at a variety of airports (Class B through E) all near KGTU.

Offered at AeroGuard’s Georgetown campus, our Pilot Pathway Program in partnership with SkyWest Airlines is your direct path to a career as a commercial airline pilot. From zero prior flight experience to airline ready, this program prepares students every step of the way for successful careers.

- Guaranteed CFI Interview at AeroGuard
- Guaranteed First Officer Interview at SkyWest
- Guaranteed Interviews with 3 Major Airlines
As a student, you’ll build the skills and knowledge to continue growing throughout the program. As a Pathway Program graduate, you’ll be offered a Guaranteed CFI Interview to work as an instructor with AeroGuard, providing a direct path to building the required 1,500 flight hours for airline hiring and upon eligibility, receiving a Guaranteed First Officer Interview with SkyWest Airlines to launch your career.
Eligible SkyWest Captains can also receive Guaranteed Interviews with United, Delta, and Alaska Airlines to further grow and establish their careers.
